Background: According
to various books, websites, and rumors, there are several accounts of
paranormal activity here, such as graves that glow in the dark, shoes
that mysteriously appear on top of graves, strange lights, the spirit
of a young lady who follows visitors around, and the belief that the
cemetery was featured on Unsolved Mysteries as one of the most haunted graveyards in the country.
Our investigation: The Unsolved Mysteries
rumor has since been debunked. The cemetery has never appeared on the
show. Due to vandalism and other troubles, the city now has a strict
curfew on people not being allowed in the cemetery after dark, so our
informal investigation was limited to daytime hours.
Evidence Gathered: The members of our group were the only people present in the cemetery at the time of the investigation. Kurt recorded this one possible EVP on his stationary recorder when he says he was standing down the path
from the recorder and if anyone was nearby he would have seen them.
With only one road in and out of the cemetery, he says they would have
been easy to spot.
